Extension FAQ

Below you'll find the most frequently asked general questions about Plugin Company's Magento extensions. All extensions are now free and open source (MIT License). Can't find what you're looking for? Please open an issue in the extension's repository on GitHub.

Licensing#

Under which license are Plugin Company extensions released?

All Plugin Company extensions are free and open source software, released under the MIT License. The license text is included in the LICENSE file of each extension's repository on GitHub.

Can I install your Magento extension on multiple domains or Magento installations?

Yes. The MIT License does not restrict the number of domains, stores, Magento installations, or test / staging / production environments you use an extension on.

Are your Magento extensions encrypted?

No. Our extensions are 100% open source and unencrypted, which means you can easily add your own customizations and adjustments as you please. Improvements can be contributed back with a pull request on GitHub.

Compatibility#

Is your extension compatible with Magento 1.x?

Plugin Company extensions support Magento Community (Open Source) and Enterprise (Commerce) editions 1.x. The supported versions of each extension are listed on its product page.

Is your extension compatible with my custom theme or third party plugin?

Practice has shown that our Magento extensions work fine with most third party plugins and custom themes, although this can't be guaranteed. If you run into a compatibility issue, please open an issue in the extension's GitHub repository; pull requests with fixes are welcome.

Installation#

How do I install a Plugin Company extension?

Our Magento extensions can be installed using our step by step installation guide.

New Releases & Updates#

How do I know when an extension update has been released?

New versions are published as releases (version tags) in the extension's GitHub repository. You can use the Watch > Custom > Releases option on GitHub to be notified about new releases. Please note that Plugin Company no longer actively develops the extensions; new releases are based on community contributions.

How do I install an extension update?

If you installed the extension with Composer, run composer update for the extension's package. Otherwise download the new release from GitHub and follow the step by step installation guide.

Support#

Can I get support for a Plugin Company extension?

Plugin Company no longer actively develops these extensions and no longer offers paid support or custom development. All extensions are free and open source (MIT) and open for issues and contributions.

Where can I ask questions or report a bug?
